"2008 World AIDS Day event opening ceremony" was held at Olympian City. As the ambassador, Miriam introduced the website "Miriam's Voice on AIDS" and self-designed logo stickers. Every year, Miriam will also take part in sharing sessions with AIDS patients and their families, to share her experiences when she was a medical nurse.

When talked about TVB's retrenchment of 212 staff, Miriam feels helpless that the economy is bad. She said not only TVB has retrenchment, her friend's company also had. TVB is a big entertainment organisation and hence people are more concerned about it.

When asked if her company will have retrenchment, she asked her manager right away and the answer is no. She hopes to call upon her company to invite some of the familiar directors or other staff for work since they are all professionals. Miriam thinks it's poor thing that the new contracted artistes' salaries are frozen. For newcomers it could be better if the management company can get some other jobs for them. Miriam admits herself will also be more thrifty in current situation and won't be willful to abandon her work to go traveling like last time. She already felt heart pain when she lost over $100000 in property investments and believes other sufferers are even more pressurized mentally.

Miriam participated in UNICEF's charity 10km run competition even she's having a cold. SHe received Kang Baoju and uncle's sponsorship of $65000 and awarded "top fund raiser". Miriam revealed, "Just now as I was running, a mixed kid suddenly called me 'auntie run faster'." When asked if she was angry, she replied, "No, the kid is quite adorable. I'm really an auntie, as my friends' kids call me. Calling me auntie is better than calling me Sister, really troublesome."

Miriam was being asked why the singers of her parent company East Asia didn't attend RTHK award's press conference. She replied even herself decided to attend last minute and got permission from the drama team for a few more days of leave. (Rumoured that Denise Ho is on bad terms with RTHK?) Miriam said, "Don't know. I'm representative from A-Music, not clear and not convenient to comment about other things. I'll just support music scene as a Hong Kong singer, and I'll attend for the other 3 awards, as for RTHK's I'll need to see my drama's production schedule.(Gold Label boycotts Metro Radio, not sure if they will be attending their awards?) Why? (Rumoured the negotiation for awards failed) There's negotiation so fast? Personally I think there's no difference of record companies, already used to having no awards. I just want to support Hong Kong music scene so I'll attend.(Is it too petty not attending because of number of awards?) Don't dare to comment, every company's promotion is different. Furthermore the rumours are not proven, every year's awards news are recycled. Maybe this year they'll write I'm fighting for Male singer award with Eason, haha." There's another rumour of Miriam ditching Leon and crossing ovet to East Asia for her Mandarin album. Miriam denied this and stressed that Leon and and Lin Jianyue already know she really want to release Mandarin album when she signed the contract. This misunderstanding is due to the distribution of Mandarin and Cantonese albums are different.

Miriam held "Wonder Miriam" autograph session at apm. It was the wedding day of Michelle Reis Lee and Xu Jingheng, Miriam said ever since Kelly got married, she's being asked to respond whenever a celeb gets married, but marriage isn't something she can fight for alone and needs to see fate. The autograph session attracted over hundreds of fans and they played games with her on stage. When reporters asked if Miriam desires to get married too, she admitted, "the time has past, I really hope to get married during 25, 26 when I see many friends who did. But when I'm 30, many friends got divorced.(How about marrying into a rich family?) Never thought before. Everyone's life is different, my ideal marriage is not these type. Maybe I'll hold it in the coliseum since no one tried that, should be quite happy, with 40 tables of majong like a majong competition."

Miriam also gave wishes to Michelle Reis and Xu Jingheng. Everytime she reads their news she feels very sweet. The reporter asked Miriam to follow suit. Miriam laughed, "I'm a contract singer, I can't do that.(Leon Lai and Gaile Lai are also very sweet) Mr Lai is rich and a boss. I still put my career in first place.(You only knows to have steamboat with others, should try something new.) How about having a boy and a girl? But I'll need time to prepare, wait till I'm married." Miriam will grab every chance of work and earn money. Her X'mas and New Year's work schedule are already packed and will even go Japan to do a skincare advertisement.

There was an audience who spoke vulgar language when scolding Edison Chen's photo incident. Miriam responded, "Let's ignore the content first, but it's not good to speak vulgar language on air. Although we can't control audience's emotions, should websites use some technology to control this? There need to be parental guidance." Bobo Chan had returned to Hong Kong. Miriam said she'll send her regards when there's a chance.

Miriam and Astrid Chan went to Qinghai to visit the women and children there. They attended a press con to share their experience and when interview clips were shown, they were not only crying in the clips but also nearly cried as they were watching the clips.
Miriam could all along control her emotions and rarely cried during interviews but this time when she saw Astrid who's also a mother, cried out, she also couldn't help but cried. She knows having a child is not a simple thing and understands her mum's care and concern for her. Miriam said the people's medical knowledge there is not enough but they only stayed 6 days for this trip and could only teach them simple knowledge. For example she taught a villager with Muscle atrophy to massage her muscles often to prevent them from Muscle necrosis. Astrid also praised Miriam for displaying her medical knowledge is this trip, and looked like she had a nurse hat on her head. Miriam said this trip made her feel deeply the parents' hardships. She said Astrid had told her to have babies while she's still young but Miriam said she doesn't have time. Now she'll help others first. Her ex-assistant who's married in Africa had called her to say she's going to have a baby and Miriam taught her how to deal with it. When she was learning to deliver a child when she was in nursing school, she was being slapped by a pregnant woman who was in pain and lost control.
