News 12/08/08 - Upcoming filming plans

Miriam attended an outdoor radio broadcast activity yesterday and invited Eric Kwok who shares the same birthday as the guest. She thinks it's difficult to find someone born in the same day, month and year. Miriam admitted she'll be filming a China drama in end of the year, but due to schedule problems she could only shoot 10 episodes. Miriam feels honoured to be able to work with Zhang Guoli again after "Wu Shi Lang". It's rumoured that she'll be paid $150,000 per episode and Miriam said, "Don't know but money is not a problem. To have the chance to work with Teacher Zhang, I'll pay him $150,000 learning fee!"

When asked if she'll speak Mandarin dialogue or needs dubbing, Miriam replied that China is more particular about articulation so even if she speaks Mandarin during filming, there might still be a need for dubbing in the end. Is she worried that she can't attend the music awards show since the drama production is in end of the year? She said the schedule can be arranged. In addition she'll be filming Gordon Chan's new movie in October. She'll do these after finishing her album promotion. On the other hand, Miriam attended a charity concert for Sichuan, and expressed she's still busy recording her new alum and couldn't make time to go for Beijing Olympics opening ceremony so she watched at home. She believed it'll be very touching to see Li Ning live when he light up the torch. When asked if she doesn't have time for dating since work is busy? She replied, "I don't even have time to eat."

News 09/08/08 - Event at Langham Place

Miriam attended an event at Langham Place yesterday and entered with DJ Leo with a red flag. They played "10 metres shooting" competition in the form of kicking a bullet-model toy car with one leg towards the target. Miriam said, "this is a playful olympics game. Leo's programme is to 'Do' out people's wrong points and is very educational." Miriam said that she need to work at night and may not be able to watch the opening ceremony of Olympics in time but hoped it can be held safely.

A magazine pointed that her face has been trimmed miraculously, so she replied, "I don't think it's to thin because it still looks fat on screen. Just have to exercise to prevent dropsy. I will force myself to exercise every morning to increase blood circulation. Few years back my face looked really swollen and needed to treat slowly with Chinese medicine." Is she worried that people will mistook her for going plastic surgery? "Not afraid. If I want I will definitely go for breast surgery as it's more useful. Will not have to stick tapes when wearing revealing clothes. I can take on more shows, no need to borrow dresses and no need to add paddings." Miriam said it's not too bad if she can change her size to 38 inches, not the bust size but the dress size. "Too big is unlike my character, very unconvincing. I'm not promoting the culture of plastic surgery but if I'm going to do, I'll do for the upper body." Everyone has different opinions of beauty. I'm used to seeing myself and artistes need to keep in shape. Actually the fee I used in exercising and hiring a coach is already more expensive than plastic surgery!"

News 06/08/08 - Interview at Metro Radio

Miriam did a radio interview at Metro Radio yesterday to promote her new song. Recently Gold Label announced buying over EMI. Miriam said there had been a lot of false rumours but now it has bought over EMI, it's worth congratulating.

Now that Gold Label has singers like Jolin Tsai, Elva Hsiao and Zhang Huimei, is Miriam afraid the competition is bigger? She feels the 2 companies are different, like East Asia also do movies and concerts. When asked if she thinks the company shouldn't hire Taiwan singers? She said she all along supports local music. She also said last time every newcomer has the chance of releasing 3 albums but now due to economic pressure, many companies will be careful when investing in albums. Even if it's a very talented newcomer, only one album is released and it's hard to choose the direction. Hence she hopes record companies can give newcomers more chances. Hong Kong singers' pressure is big, hopefully there'll be more Hong Kong singers winning in music awards.

There's a rumour that Edison Chen has returned Hong Kong secretly. Miriam said she didn't know but admitted keeping in touch with him through emails. Last year she discussed with Edison about cooperating with Fama in a song but their schedule couldn't match. Now they'll have to see if there's time in the 2nd half of the year. Miriam initially discussed with Edison about this song but he is too busy so now she talks to Fama directly, which she thinks is even better. Miriam said she didn't know when Edison returned Hong Kong but she bought his recent released shoes.
